Conclusion and recommendation.

I was testing the flash in the evening sun to see if it can overpower the sun, or fill in the shadow, using the flash off camera, the flash did an okay job, I needed to be very close to my model for it to work something, but soon as the sun came more down the flash worked much better.

Nikon D810 with 20mm lens @ f/8 – 1/250s – ISO 64 Flash on full power 1/1 shooting in umbrella softbox.

This flash is actually really good for the money, I would say 80% of the quality from the Nikon SB-910 Speedlight.

i-TTL on the Nikon SB-910 flash works better (more accurate lighting especially when shooting in a room and with wide angle lenses) and the Nikon SB-910 is more powerful when used in full power (M 1/1), also the Nikon SB-910 has more options in the menu system.

There are three things that I like better with the Neewer NW-910 Speedlight vs the Nikon SB-910.

  1. AF assist beam is better.
  1. Swinging/Tilting flash head, you can swing the head without pressing the lock button which you need to do on Nikon SB-910.
  1. And the power switch on/off button is better on the Neewer NW-910.
When Neewer NW-910 is used with Nikon CLS system.

I can use the Neewer NW-910 with Nikon Speedlight in the same group and the same channel.
